Deranged hermit solopreneur obsessed with copywriting (to the point it borders on the downright strange) reveals everything he's ever learned on how to...
WRITE COPY THAT SELLS MORE
"I've landed 7-figure clients and written copy that's helped them make $100k a month, consulted with tech startups, and I did it all through the power of copy alone. No offer, less than 500 followers and not a single cold DM."
"You can use my methods in your business too - and with just a short 60 minute consultation, you can learn exactly which of these methods to deploy today to make more sales as soon as tomorrow, and sales for the rest of your life."
"Criminally underfollowed" marketer whose direct response secrets punch way above his audience size.
JAMES PERKINS
Dear friend,
If you want to know the secrets that allow some marketers to seemingly pluck sales from thin air...
ON DEMAND
Then this letter can show you how.
Here's the story:
My name is James Perkins, and 2 years ago, like many aspiring copywriters, I was stuck in a dead-end job I hated. After graduating with an honours degree in English, I'd briefly lived the dream teaching English on the Amalfi Coast for 3 years, but the time came to head home, get serious, and get a real job. I took the first job I could get my desperate little hands on and began what became a 6-year stint of cold calling as a recruiter.
I knew after the first two weeks that it was not for me, but no matter what job I applied for to escape...
I HAD BEEN PIGEONHOLED INTO A CAREER I NEVER WANTED.
On the first day of 2023, I promised myself that I would rather die than be a recruiter this time next year. The only part of recruitment I'd ever been good at was writing cold emails and job advertisement copy, so I took my degree, teaching experience, and six years of writing emails and ads and started my own business. If no one would hire me for anything but recruitment, then I'd hire myself.
Long story short, here are a few examples of what I've done since starting as a solopreneur:
Written cold emails, social content, and copy used to help close countless 5-figure coaching clients
(Delivering sometimes in less than 24 hours in a high-pressure, high standards niche with zero room for error)
Written info product sales letters for a TikTok creator with 300k+ followers
(Despite having less than 300 followers myself at the time)
Consulted on landing page and website copy with a goliath-killer tech startup
(Changing the entire direction of the company's product marketing in just one 60-minute session)
And even written copy for the President's doctor
(No, I can’t tell you which President. For a client of course, but still, not bad, ey?)...
AND I DID IT ALL WITHOUT AN OFFER, AN EMAIL LIST, OR A SINGLE COLD DM.
Now, I know what you're thinking. You're thinking, "There's no way."
And I'll be real with you. This sh*t was not easy.
I wrote online every day for a year before I landed my first client.
And I'm not talking about flip-flopping between the newest shiny objects every few months... I'm talking about showing up every day to talk about copywriting, email marketing, and solopreneurship. I legit live and breathe this sh*t, much to my lady's dismay, who regularly wakes up to find me already having been awake for hours, pacing around my study or staring out of the window, searching for new ways to assemble ideas in a sequence that helps you sell more.
And although there are much easier and quicker ways to win…
I ATTRACTED ALL MY SUCCESS THROUGH THE POWER OF COPY ALONE.
(The silver lining of wanting to be a copywriter but being stuck in other jobs for the best part of a decade is that you have a LOT of time to study at the feet of the old masters.)
But in a world where increasingly I see worse and worse copy advice being lapped up...
I feel obligated to pass on what was passed on to me, which helped me change my life and business fortunes.
At this point, almost none of the solopreneurs I started with are still around.
One by one, they fell into the same traps:
They struggled to write every day because they were writing the complete wrong way
They were inconsistent, unreliable, and forgot the most important rule of online biz
They were scared to be themselves, to make offers, to hit publish, you name it
They over-edited every line until their copy lost all personality
They built an audience of spectators - not buyers
They undercharged, got stuck with nightmare clients, and burned out fast
They built offers they wanted to sell - not what their audience wanted to buy
They fell for the lifestyle marketing that promised them it was easy and that anyone could do it
They built other people’s businesses, not the one that worked for them
I watched as they made mistake after mistake, following the wrong guidance, while I continued to go from strength to strength, gathering the respect of real operators, working and earning with legit businesses.
Don't believe me? Then...
CHECK OUT SOME OF THE "BIG NAMES" OF INFO WHO FOLLOW ME!
Which is why I've decided to offer an unknown quantity of consulting sessions (despite having phone-based PTSD from my time as a recruiter) that will be available for as short a time as it takes me to create a product offer instead - and not a minute longer.
This brief and limited window will likely be your only chance to speak with me one-on-one for personalised advice on your business, your emails, and your copy. I assure you, this is not some moronic attempt at fake scarcity. I genuinely became a solopreneur to reduce the number of calls I have to make to zero, so if this at all interests you or you think it could be useful... I wouldn't wait too long.
So, to help you decide, here's a "sneak preview" of what a consultation could include, depending on what you need guidance on:
A "North Star Heuristic" to cut through the bullshyt "advice" that plagues the copywriting, email marketing, and Money Twitter space in general
The stupidly simple set of strategies that almost all are overlooking, yet are proven, long-term ways to build a profitable copy business
How to stand out in a sea of desperate, lazy, sleazeballs and build a real, trusted business online, even if you currently have a small audience
The direct response trick from the days of Madison Avenue mail advertising to get people to buy faster (that works even better now than it did then)
An 1800s Englishman's approach to selling that revolutionised the Paris fashion industry that you can use to charge higher and higher prices... and your audience will thank you for it!
How to package your product or service in a way that gets people greedily clamouring to press the buy button, not just comment on your posts
A counterintuitive method to audience building that guarantees high-quality subscribers, customers, and clients
How to attract legitimate, long-term clients who pay on time, leave you to do what you do best, and trust you to turn every dollar they pay you into two (or more!)
Why chasing clients is a death sentence for your reputation - and how to flip the script so they chase you
The Soviet-inspired "hypernormalisation" trap that has marketers copying each other to death… and how to break free before your business collapses with them
A way to potentially make double, if not triple, the sales you are currently making by spitting in the face of almost everything you have learned on the timeline
All this delivered by someone who has:
An honours degree in English
(Not just someone who skimmed through Cashvertising once and wants to rent a Lambo)
Years of actual teaching experience
(Not just a wing and a prayer and what they've learned about teaching on YouTube...)
Over half a decade of experience persuading people on the phone as a recruiter
(Not just someone who has ideas on what works, but has tested it all himself)
And who's actually currently writing for a living - as a solopreneur running my own business writing for myself and my clients, but also as a corporate writer, where I write copy for social content, blogs, news stories, articles... even print magazines.

How to fix your market mismatch before it ruins your business
The hidden benefit of making prospects jump through hoops before they can buy

The secret sales page rhythm that has readers nodding along before buying - every time
How to pump out content faster than you’ll know what to do with - and how to make it work harder for you every day with zero extra effort
WAIT, HOLD UP A SECOND... YOU SAID CORPORATE?
Yep, that's right. Since starting my business, it's even landed me a cushty corporate gig. I'm not just some schmuck on the internet.
I pay my bills by writing. I spend all day, every day doing it, and I want to share what I've learned writing for both clients and corporate that can help you pay your bills, and much more, with writing too.
Still more:
How to write daily emails even if you “don’t have time” (this one shocks 9-5ers)
The hidden danger of "relatable" marketing - why showing your scars might make you likeable but destroy the myth that makes people pay you
Why you should focus on your sales letter bullet points more than any other copy
The "white-collar Elon jail" warning - proof that playing in someone else's sandbox means you'll always pay the price when they change the rules
A lesson direct-mail chads can teach you about writing emails people actually read
The truth behind two years of watching creators on Twitter: why most of them quit… and the filter only killers pass
A painful lesson I learned from casting pearls before swine - why quick-win dopamine will always beat long-term wisdom if you don't frame it right
The simplest growth lever you're ignoring: why most smart takes never turn into money because their writers aren't famous enough
What writing copy for the President's doctor taught me about persuasion at the highest levels of influence
An easy way to tell if someone is making money or just larping online - they talk about what they've done, not what they think
The eighth wonder of the marketing world almost no solopreneur leverages - the quiet force that compounds daily efforts into Stripe notifications
A "marketing white knight" mistake that makes your offers feel noble but doomed - and what to do instead to ride with your market, not against it
The hidden value of a single follow from the right person - and why I once spent four figures just to get in the right room
Why "solopreneur" doesn't mean "alone" - and the sneaky way your copy can attract allies and peers, not just customers
The real reason your product isn’t selling... and how to fix it immediately
Now, a word of warning:
If you are here looking for magic bullets, hack tactics, or any other kind of shortcut for that matter, you're out of luck.
My methods are boring, unglamorous, and only for the truly committed.
If that doesn't faze you? As was taught to me, shall I pass unto you.
But that's not all:
How overcomplicating your emails is sabotaging your chance at freedom - and what to do instead
A subtle way "feeding your audience vegetables" builds demand - even if they resist at first
What the Chinese Communist Party can teach you about list building (hint: it ain't what you think)
How to use your copy as a "secretary" to attract only the highest-quality clients
The shocking way deliberately alienating people can double your sales
Why Zoomers are a propagandist's dream - and what you can learn from this about attracting (or repelling) buyers
The hidden advantage of being the black sheep in your niche - and how to profit from it
The 88-year-old persuasion trick you should avoid like the plague in your emails - unless you want to blend in with every midwit goo-roo online
The ruthless tactic Roy Cohn swore by - and why it matters more in marketing than in law
Why a market-first approach will crush a marketing-first approach every single time
And a whole bunch more, including:
How to give prospects a quick win that hooks them for the long haul… Why rewriting your website copy is keeping you broke… The blunt "buy my f*cking book" method that works better than any tactics… How brutal honesty can make you more persuasive … Why "office water cooler" copy will get ignored every time… How to position your offers so well that people would steal them if they could… Why tradition beats trends… Why zero-to-hero stories don’t attract buyers…
But that's still not all:
What a community of insomniacs can teach you about content that puts people to sleep - and how to avoid it
Why who follows you matters more than how many - and how to game this to win clients
The blind spot keeping many solopreneurs stuck - working harder on the wrong thing while ignoring the obvious fix
An overlooked advantage of writing for clients outside your own bubble - and how it forces you to level up
The brutal difference between broke freelancers and writing copy that gets you paid
How to write with respect signals that make people take you seriously - even if your following is tiny
The true cost of treating first clients as "practice" - and why you'll never recover your reputation if you do
Why most advice from big accounts is poison for solopreneurs
A reason why most creators blindly follow "false idols" online - and how survivorship bias tricks them into copying garbage advice
Why chasing attention from the serotonin-starved masses guarantees headache clients
The #1 mistake solopreneurs make when building an audience - attracting others just like them who will never buy
and much, much more
Anyway, I could go on and on, but here is the deal:
This is a 60-minute one-on-one "Copy Chief Consultation" where you get direct, personalised advice on your copy, your emails, your offers, and your business.
You’ll get the exact time-tested principles, strategies, and approaches I learned from the old masters that I’ve used to land 7-figure clients, help businesses do $100k months, and rewrite entire marketing directions for startups in a single session.
I’ll work with you, give you clarity on what to do next, and arm you with practical steps you can immediately deploy to write copy that makes more sales.
You can bring me your social content, your emails, your landing page, your sales letters, your funnel, your offer - if your current copy isn’t selling, I’ll show you exactly how to fix it.
Plus, you’ll walk away with a recording of the call for your personal reference, forever, for free, so you can revisit the advice whenever you need. I’m often astounded by the new nuggets of wisdom I discover for my own business when revisiting info I’ve consumed before, and I want the same for you.
You’ll also get a full transcript of all insights and recommendations for easy review, as well as a written action plan highlighting your exact next steps so you can immediately put into practice the advice from the consultation.

The information can help you waste less time, write copy that sells more, and finally build a solopreneur business that works.
Here's what it costs:
Your investment is a flat $499
And for this, you get to have me personally advise you on everything copy and email-related that your twisted little melon can concoct in sixty minutes. I won't write your copy for you... but this is about as close as you'll get without having to hire me to help you on a monthly retainer plus a percentage of sales.
However...
There are absolutely no guarantees or refunds, and all sales are final.
If this puts you off, upsets you, or even the slightest bit concerns you?
Then simply do not buy this. Please feel free to read my free daily email tips to your heart's content.
This is for those who want a copy chief on call and understand that money is replenishable, time losing sales is not.
This is deliberately priced to weed out the unserious. I do not recommend buying this if you're new to the game, your business isn't making much yet, and I definitely do not recommend going into debt to buy this.
If you have any doubts, I don't want to work with you. Seriously. I'm only interested in working with serious contenders who know what they want. Beginners looking to swipe hacks and tactics for their non-existent, pre-revenue business idea need not apply.
If you understand and agree to the above and still can't wait to hit the buy button...
