Chasing is inherently part of business.
You can't just sit around and wait for money to jump into your pocket.
But we'd all be lying to each other if we didn't want our clients to come to us. Life would be pretty sweet, huh?
Well, it can be, but you probably ain't gonna like the hard work it's going to take to get to that point. So for the get-rich-quick biz-op junkies who've already got a resume of failed e-com, FBA, and appointment-setting gigs... This advice goes right over their pretty lil heads.
I posted on Twitter daily for nine months before getting my first inbound client. Could I have got there quicker? Sure. I could also have more followers by now too. But I'm the type of guy that when he sees what everyone else is doing...
I want to do the exact opposite.
So when I see folks giving away all their knowledge in the hope that more people will follow them... Or giving out free calls and consultations... I cringe, knowing the true cost of impatience and wanting what you've not yet been in the game long enough to earn.
People only come to you when you've earned it. When you're so good at what you do, they seek you out. The old masters weren't doing auto-DM giveaways of knowledge they could charge for. And neither should you.
Working for free is a death sentence for your reputation.
Working for free means you don't value your skill enough to be confident to charge for it. So, the answer to how to get people to come to you instead of chasing them down to get paid?
Is to get f*ckin' good.
Good enough that people speak of you when you're not in the room. Good enough that you know that whatever you charge is accepted by your audience because they KNOW that for every $1 they spend, they will earn $2. And that honestly takes more patience than most are willing to give.
If your business can't wait 10,000 hours of dedication and you want to cut in line...
