The ghost of Christmas visited Scrooge
Hey.
Right now, there's something in your business that you're struggling with.
Perhaps you want to work with better clients who pay more
Perhaps you want to launch your own product offers but aren't sure where to start
Perhaps you haven't landed your first client, and you know that everything will change when you do
Perhaps you don't have enough hours in the day, juggling your 9-5, family, kids, business, clients, etc
Or perhaps you have an email list you're neglecting, or you want to start your own list... but it seems like too much on top of everything else you've got going on
I'm feeling festive (my girl put a tiny Christmas tree up in my office), so if you have a question or a problem that's holding you and your business back...
Why not take a risk and reply to me for a change?
You receive and open these emails from me every day... but this ain't gotta be a one-way street.
I don't know about you, but I've been subscribed to a few people's lists I admire for a while... and for the longest time, I kept my business problems to myself.
I guess it's embarrassing to admit you have a problem you can't solve alone... especially as a business owner or solopreneur - 'lone wolf', 'I'll figure it out', 'I'll do it myself' is in our DNA.
But something snapped in me one day, fed up with not getting the results I wanted, and I started replying to the people who were successfully doing what I wanted to do.
And you know what?
They replied back.
You see, the thing about running a solopreneur biz? It's lonely.
Almost everyone around you doesn't understand.
I recently saw a relevant tweet:
Every ultra high achiever is in a delusional love affair - not with themselves, but with something unknown. They're obsessed with it, haunted by it, and driven by blind faith in something they can't fully explain. They simply say, 'I'll figure it out.' That insane trust in the unknown is their real superpower.
'Haunted by it' is probably the most accurate way anyone trying to become an ultra-high achiever feels.
And the blunt truth is that if you want to run a business alone, you're attempting to become an ultra-high achiever.
So when you reach out to someone who is on that same path... trying to will something into existence from nothing, something that no one else around them can see, or imagine, or understand... someone who can day after day eat the failure and try again tomorrow, someone who can stomach the sacrifice...
All the lost friendships
All the abandoned hobbies
All the skipped gym sessions
All the guilt of not being present
All the holidays you could have bought instead of courses
All the time with your loved ones lost from sitting alone at your desk...
They know what it's like, because they're haunted by it too.
Anyway, I'm starting to sound like Scrooge.
If you're struggling with something in your biz right now, email me and tell me about it. I'd love to help.
Your haunted pal in solopreneurship,
James Perkins
