Why should this customer choose this product over all others?
Forcing yourself to level up is never a comfortable process.
You see, when you sit and consume information, you think you're learning... and if you learn enough, you think you're smart, right up until you have to put what you've learned to the test. It's why so many people never launch: it's easier to think of yourself as smart than to test it and potentially discover the opposite. Pain, shame, embarrassment - the emotions of failure. Most people spend most of their lives trying to avoid it all.
But the only way to guarantee that you never fail is to never try.
All this to say... at the moment, I'm drilling down into my market positioning.
And a question keeps haunting me.
"Why should this customer choose this product over all others?"
The more I think about it, the more I come to the conclusion that it's a "follow the leader" scenario.
If you want to achieve a specific outcome, and you can choose between following instructions from someone who read a book about how to do it... or from someone who has actually done it themselves, it's a no-brainer. You're listening to the guy who's done it before.
It's the same when we write copy... proof is king.
The more proof we can provide that the product will deliver the outcome the prospect wants, the easier it is for the prospect to buy.
This applies to your list. Your offers. Your clients.
Why should they choose you?
Why should they buy your offers?
Why should they hire you?
And not only why you... but why you OVER ALL OTHERS?
It's a bitch, but you have to draw a line in the sand, plant your flag, and yodel from the mountaintop: "This is who I am, and this is what I do better than anyone else." If you can't say that... then you gotta go out there and make plays until you have enough proof that you're the big fish in your pond.
So here's the deal:
