You're still writing like a robot

We all have our inbox heroes.

You know, the ones that jump out at you and demand to be read. Like an old friend, that notification is a welcome one, rather than one you swipe away immediately.

Sure, there are many valuable voices in your inbox. After all, you selected them carefully. But there's a difference between those who we think we want to hear from regularly and those who we make sure we don't miss. And I don't know about you, but many of those who I was initially the most excited to subscribe to...

They just ain't doing it for me no more.

I set about to find out why.

After all, it doesn't matter how many subscribe to our emails... we need them to CONSUME. Can't sell if they don't read. And honestly, I think I've figured it out.

It's those amongst us who have yet to figure out that we rationalise with logic...

But make decisions emotionally.

So, if you're hitting your list with the kind of voice that screams, "I'm corporate, but look - I loosened my tie!" You're in for a bad day at the delivery office. At the end of the day, business is BORING. And yes, we happy few are motivated or perhaps psychotic enough to love it... But you can't fight against our evolutionary programming.

If you want to write emails that make 'em feel like you're with them round the email cave fire, or you're the knights of the email round table...

Instead of emails that feel like you're stuck round the office water cooler...
